This second book was fantastic. Fans of Daughter of Smoke and Bone, you are going to be so pleased. This was such a fast paced page turning fantasy thriller. I loved, mostly, how complicated the plot became and the enormous plot twist in the end. The end just left me wanting me. I just wanted to read the last book so bad, and when it ended I was just lost. I loved how the author, Laini Taylor, decided to write this one. She has a very unique sense of writing, and while I page through her books, I find so many great quotes.
If you have not read this trilogy, I highly recommend it. I have heard rumors of this coming out into a movie. I will be very excited to find out if it is true or not, but like I said, just rumors. I would be worried for the casting and the director. After watching The Mortal Instruments:City of Bones I was so very sad to see how awful the movie was done, though the books were so phenomenal. I would be very upset if the movie were to end up like that, because I can completely see that happening.
This book did involve some tears near the end, but I am a very emotional person when it comes to reading because I am so attached with the characters, but if you don't normally cry in books then you should be fine. The ending was very triumphant. I have the last book in my room, which I so want to read right now but I can't because I am saving it for my trip to Florida in December. So I would very much like to read it, but I must wait, and when I do finish it I will have a post up immediately.
If you have never read or even heard of this crazy good fantasy trilogy, I recommend it very much. This trilogy, however, does take a more sophisticated reader. So if you have read more young adult and adult books than I suggest you read this. But if you are used to reading middle school grade books then I would wait a few years until you have matured with your reading level.
